As part of the final steps to secure operating approval for its temporary casino, Bally’s Chicago has scheduled practice gaming sessions for the Illinois Gaming Board at the Medinah Temple building after Labor Day. The three-level venue is expected to open soon after approval and to offer 750 slot machines, numerous table games, dining options, and more. DMA has provided development management and owner representation services as Bally’s readies its temporary location and develops a permanent Bally’s Chicago entertainment destination at Chicago Avenue and Halsted Street.

Bally’s Chicago offered members of the media an early look inside its temporary casino location, in the landmark Medinah Temple building at 600 N. Wabash. The three-level venue will feature some 750 slot machines, numerous table games, a café, two restaurants, and a large backlit Circle Bar. The design preserves and highlights historical elements, including the original atrium and stained-glass windows. Casino officials aim to open by the end of summer, pending approval of a gaming license by the state gaming board. DMA has provided development management and owner representation services as Bally’s readies its temporary location and develops a permanent Bally’s Chicago entertainment destination at Chicago Avenue and Halsted Street. The temporary operation is expected to generate $55 million in taxes for Chicago.

A groundbreaking event for the Chicago Fire’s Performance Center took place on the Near West Side. The development project includes a two-story training facility, serving both the Fire FC’s professional players and the Chicago Fire Youth Academy, as well as multiple grass and synthetic turf pitches. DMA provided advisory services for the project over the month preceding groundbreaking, analyzing costs and advising ownership on feasibility matters.

Visitors can already experience many of the modernized features, from the overhead lighting installations flowing along the corridors to the upgraded Rain Show attraction, enveloping guests in the sights and sounds of an immersive indoor storm. Situated on the Las Vegas Strip and offering more than a mile of amenities, Miracle Mile Shops has long been known for its mix of fashion, food and entertainment. DMA led project management and owner representation services for this significant renovation.

A recent review of Kindling, in Chicago’s Willis Tower, calls out the strength of Chef Jonathon Sawyer’s wood-fire grilling and notes that the two-level venue offers a choice of dining experiences. The Fifty/50 Restaurant Group teamed with Sawyer to create the newly opened Kindling. DMA worked with EQ Office to deliver the 17,000 square feet of retail space.

Rosa Mexicano Restaurants announced plans to open its first Las Vegas location in the iconic Miracle Mile Shops, located directly on the bustling Las Vegas Strip, with a fantastic Strip-front patio in late 2023. Marking the dynamic brand’s largest location, Rosa Mexicano Las Vegas features an immersive, vibrant atmosphere and an eclectic, made-from-scratch menu steeped in Mexican culture and tradition, including Rosa’s famous table-side guacamole, house-made mole, award-winning margaritas and more.

An extensive interior and exterior renovation of the Miracle Mile property has transformed this mile-long stretch of shops and attracted new interest. DMA provides retail tenant delivery services on behalf of ownership.

The Harbour offers emergency shelter and supportive services to youth and young mothers in Chicago’s north and northwestern suburbs. A project creating a new home for this non-profit organization earned a Roberta Feldman Architecture for Social Justice Award Honorable Mention at AIA Chicago’s 2022 DESIGNNIGHT event. DMA founder and senior advisor Martha Spatz was part of the project team recognized for this work, led by OKW Architects in partnership with Designs for Dignity.

A new lease for some 62,000 square feet at The Terminal makes NuMat Technologies the largest tenant to date in the Humboldt Park redevelopment project. NuMat, a leader in the field of programmable chemistries, will relocate from Skokie to a space that’s triple the size of its current one.

The Terminal recently won an award from NAIOP Chicago for Office Redevelopment of the Year. DMA assisted with the transformation of the former industrial complex, which now encompasses 250,000 square feet of innovative workspace. Tech tenant EeroQ signed the first lease in January 2022.
